K.V. Balu: Unity in diversity
Apart from gallivanting with the jet-set
and doing interviews on the run, Balu has a career which branches in many
directions. His many talents include:
- Playing for Films - he has worked with the greatest music
director from the South: The Legendary Illayaraja.
- Playing for Album Recordings - Devotional, Bhangra,
Hindustani Classical, Carnatic Classical, Gospel, Rock, Jazz, Reggae, Rap,
Jazz, Fusion - Balu fuses, defuses, and confuses but never refuses the
challenge...
- Touring with his bands. Now that The Pulse is no longer
on tour - Balu has picked up with Brahma and works with Funky Bodhi Music...
- Playing for Doordarshan (Indian Television)
- Light Classical Performances
- Loop Recording for Remix Albums
- Music Direction - yes he does it himself too - if the
price is right...
